Trip to Mt. Bukhansan

“There’s always gonna be another mountain! I’m always gonna make it move!”

Mt. Bukhansan is one of the famous mountains in Seoul. It is located in the famous Bukhansan National Park. That park won the Guinness Book of World records for the “Most Visited National Park per Unit Area.”

I am an adventurous person. I enjoy going to places I haven’t been. One of the activities I like to do is mountain climbing. In fact, I vowed to climb at least one mountain a year. Since I’m in Korea, I told myself that I should not leave the country without seeing the peak of Mt. Bukhansan. This month, I finally made it to Mt. Bukhansan.

Bukhansan Dulle-gil is divided into 21 sections. Originally, my plan is to go to the highest peak. Unfortunately, that peak is far from the entrance where we were. So I decided to use the Korean map given to us by the person in charge. It really tested my Korean reading skills!

I chose the path going to the Munsubong Peak. In that path, we will be able to pass by four temples and two gates! I was thrilled to see them all.

The first temple we saw was the Sambongsa Temple. When we went there, we heard a monk praying. So we decided to let him finish first before we go inside the temple.

This picture was taken by Camille. She is my new found friend. LOL. She’s a Pinay mountaineer. It's her first time to travel out of the country alone.

After some temples, we were able to see two gates: Daesongmun & Daenamun gate.

We also tried to climb on the walls of Seoul.

This is Munsusa temple. It is carved into a granite rock! Amazingggg!

On our way to the peak, we saw the cityscapes of Seoul.

And there you go, my one and only selfie at Munsubong peak!

In the near future, I’m planning to visit Mt. Seoraksan.

Every mountain top is within reach if you just keep climbing!

How to go there:

Take a bus/cab to Bukhansan National Park Visitor Center.
(Bus no. 110, 143, 1113)

Hiking Route:
Bukhansan National Park Visitor Center - Sambongsa Temple - Yongchwisa Temple - Daesongmun Gate - Daenamun Gate - Munsusa Temple - Munsubong Peak
Admission fee: FREE!

Trip to Cat Cafe

Cat Cafe is one of the places you should visit when you visit Myeongdong.

I went there to meet up with my friend from Australia.
We are not a fan of cats but we visited out of curiosity.

Some cats are really fierce. They're intimidating. LOL.

But some are nice. I can say that most of them are couch potatoes!

Unlike the dog cafe, I wasn't able to carry any cat.

I think they're not approachable.

I end up just taking selfies with them.

There are 35 cats in the cafe but I failed to connect with any of them.

Anyway, the cafe is clean. We enjoyed the ambiance.

Here are some photos of the cafe:

They have cat toilet! The cats must have been trained.

I can only take pics with sleeping cats. HUHUHU

Look at the posters in their restroom! LOL

Oh btw, visitors are required to change their shoes before entering.

This is a kind of cafe that I would visit only once. LOL. If you're looking for interaction, I think that the dog cafe is better.

How to go there:
From exit 6 of Myeongdong Station, walk straight and turn right when you see the man dressed in a cat costume. You’ll see a sign.
Admission fee: 8,000 won (with free drink)

Trip to Everland

Going to Korea wouldn't be complete if you don't visit any amusement park. Korea has a lot of amusement parks. Among them, Everland is the best!

It's a place where everyday is a holiday! Excited is an understatement. I was so happy walking inside the park and even more excited to try their rides.

I went there with Khaylee. We went in the same school but we haven't talk until now. As an expat, it's refreshing to meet another Filipino once in awhile.

We were together in some rides. In other rides, I was alone.
She's into photography, and I'm into extreme rides.

I enjoyed the Zootopia because it was my first time to see most of the animals there.

I was in awe the whole time. I feel like I was more excited with the kids there.

Look at these racoons!

They have different kinds of monkeys! Yay! LOL

Here are some of the photo spots in Zootopia.

You don't need to go to Africa to ride a camel. They have it here in Everland! <3

Look at this T-Express! Your visit to Everland isn't worth it if you don't try The T- Express. It's one of the steepest wooden roller coaster in the world!

Everland also offers animal shows.

It's not just a normal animal show because the animals know a lot of tricks.

I can say that the animals are not harmed and they are enjoying what they do.

Given a chance, I would love to have a caricature with my family or my special someone.

Alpine Village is amazing! It made me feel that I'm in Switzerland.

I went there on the second week of March 2016. The snow has melted. No more sledding. :(

The horror house was also closed.

I ate at the place called European Adventure.

The food is really pricey so we decided to order just one meal. This costs 13,500 won.

It was all worth it!

Who would have thought that you'll see these kind of houses in Korea!

After the T-Express ride, we opted to go to some light activities like watching a 4D movie.

At first, we were glad because the trailer is in English with Korean subtitles.

But it turns out that the movie "Rio" is using the Korean language without subtitles. LOL.

The rotating house is next to the Space Tour. It's really cool! You should try it.

I forgot the name of this ride where you'll sit in the chair and shoot anything weird around.

They also have lots of cable cars. Yayyy.

Here are some pictures in the American Adventure:

Here are some pictures in the Magic Land:

Here are some pictures in the European Adventure:

Here are some pictures in the Global Village:

The tulips are still closed because it's winter.

I'll definitely go back there on Spring!

How to go there:
Make a reservation to the bus in their website. Or just wait at the designated bus stop. :)
